Places: Central Alberta

Unbelievably, it had been two summers since we had all been back to Alberta at the same time even though I have been a couple of times in the last year. As a result, we were all pretty excited to get there and had a great nine days with perfect weather the entire time. We started off in Edmonton where my sister held a belated birthday for the big guy and I on their backyard patio.

The next day we picked up our minivan which would be our sweet chariot for the week and headed down to Lacombe. It was great to see my parent’s place and all the work they’ve done – seems like something new every time I visit. Throughout the week, Lil’ E overcame her fear of the dog and walked Emma almost every day. She also learned to sew with GramA and the big guy discovered my old sandbox toys and had a ball playing in the pea gravel in the backyard. Both the kids loved going out to my dad’s farm to ‘drive’ the tractor.

We also threw in two smaller trips, one to Rocky Mountain House and another to Drumheller that I will cover in another post. Some of the highlights of our visit below:

Many, many playgrounds
